• You have customers who specifically request PLA (and accept the higher cost)
• You can manage longer lead times and plan orders 2+ weeks ahead

Choose transparent bakery boxes if:

• Product visibility is a selling point (bakery, deli, specialty foods)
• You want to reduce labeling costs
• Your customers value the ability to see the product before buying

Bottom line: There's no universal winner. The best choice depends on your specific use case: volume, customer expectations, tolerance for spillage, and willingness to pay more for sustainability or visibility. If you're a small business or startup testing the market, look for vendors that don't penalize small orders. The ones that treat your $300 trial seriously are the ones that will grow with you.
